March 17-21

This week we will be working on finishing the letter Xx as in the end of fox and x-ray.  Students will go on a treasure hunt throughout the building to find the “X” that marks the spot of their hidden treasure! How exciting!!!  There will be NO Show and Tell for X.  Next week we will also be beginning to work on the letter Ww and its sound as in wagon and watermelon.  Review identifying and writing letters learned.  Also practice blending letters in three, four, and five letter words.

The children may wear the new shamrock t-shirts on Monday to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day if you purchased one.  If not, they may want to wear green or white.

In reading our story will be Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Wednesday, March 19th will be WATERY WEDNESDAY in Kindergarten.  We will be talking about water and completing different experiments involving water throughout the day.  It will be WONDERFUL!
As a theme for the week we will be discussing different kinds of weather.  Maybe we will even have a future meteorologist in our midst!

In Math we just took our topic test.  Please sign and return this after you check how your child did.  We will be working with 2 ten frames for the teen numbers and the children will show how to make the teen numbers using the ten frames.

Now we just need some spring weather!
